TINY MAKER CLASSES

TINY MAKERS are some of our FAVORITE MAKERS! Though they be small, they be mighty!!! Periodically throughout the year, TINY MAKER CLASSES will be offered. These are super fun and super messy classes that are Process Based sessions that are more about experiencing how the materials function than a completed perfect piece of art. Little ones need time to learn through the process. These classes give them the opportunity to experiencewhat happens when you mix and build and seeing how what they are doing affect the next step. Leave the mess to us!

So, what is Process Art? And why is it important for kids?

Art, life, and the wide world brand new to children. They are constantly forming ideas about the way things work. Children learn through play and open-ended activities. It allows them the chance to form ideas about the world around them, ask questions, and see how things work. Process Art fits intuitively with how children learn because it allows them room make their own decisions and just create!

Here are just a few things that Process Art activates:

  • Fine motor skills

  • Gross motor skills and coordination

  • Art techniques

  • Risk-taking

  • Spatial reasoning

  • Literacy

  • Math

  • Science

  • Language

  • Art history

  • Sensory exploration

  • Creativity and self-expression
